Engineering Management Institute Managers: Do You Care About Your Employees? their workers and others, and their management fosters a real TEAM mentality. Their staff all the time appears to be totally engaged and WANTS to work for them. Conflict inside their division is usually rare or non-existent. On the other hand, there are managers who usually care only about themselves and the bottom line of the company. Managers say the words ‘Thank You,’ as soon as every week if their workers are lucky. They fail to recognize when their workers go the extra mile, inflicting a sense of underneath-appreciation to permeate through their division. They are constantly putting themselves earlier than the group. They fail to delegate or give their staff opportunities to broaden their horizons, usually as a result of lack of trust. When considered one of their workers deserves a elevate or promotion, whether or not the manager thinks they do or not, they fail to “go to bat” for his or her worker within the firm, again considering the way it may affect them. The disti nction between managers and leaders is probably not as minimize and dry as I even have described, however if you find yourself doing any of those things I mentioned when describing a supervisor, start making some adjustments TODAY!
